Dear foreign friends,

    I live in Presov, a town in the eastern part of the Slovak Republic. By May 1st 2004 this country will have entered the European Union. You may have reasons to be familiar with the way of life, work, culture, policy etc. of the people living in the region. The predominant towns are Kosice and Presov. In this case welcome to my page.

    Before you look at this page let me say a few words as an introduction. The page had its origins after I completed my cooperation with the CTK agency. I worked for this agency as a photo-journalist for eastern Slovakia for a period of seven years. When I was thinking about my further career I decided to make use of my knowledge of this country and of my experience in photography in my own way as a freelancer. However, I do not want to compete with active photo-journalists in their pursuit to get the latest news. In the case of your particular request this would be no problem. I would like to aim at the production of photographs which last longer or photographs which could be used as pictures for illustration. The topics to be displayed would be determined by time and by the demands of those concerned.. For the present it is only a budding idea.

    Today in cooperation with Daniela Obšasníková, a former reporter of TASR and a scriptwriter for STV /Slovak Television/, I offer photographs, photoreportages and journalism from East Slovakia for the media, firms and organizations. I use digital technology and photograph on cine-film as well. Photographs and texts can be sent by e-mail, ftp or recorded on CD.

    For the beginning I have chosen photographs which were mostly taken for the CTK agency. As they were not in direct relation to the reported topic of the day, or, better photographs were used for the reporting, they remained only in my files. There are also some pictures which were suitable for my display but they were issued by the CTK agency / these photographs are designated by the agency logo/. I do not wish to violate the copyright. These photographs may be used or printed only with the permission of the CTK agency. The other photographs are mainly a mini presentation of eastern Slovakia. The wooden churches are also an invitation to the Slovak-Polish border...
